From hot soups to ice cream and cereal or a nice bowl of wet food for your pet. They're a good size for a serving and don't wilt quickly when holding any liquids. The thickness it about what you’d expect although the lip seems slightly thin and bends easily when trying to separate them, which isn’t difficult, but not simple by any means. Again not a deal breaker for our house.
