Die sehr hohe Schutzwirkung beruht auf dem elektrochemischen Verhalten des metallischen Zinkstaubs, der in aggressiver Atmosphre aufgrund seiner im Vergleich zu Eisen weniger edlen Struktur zuerst oxidiert und dadurch die darunterliegende Eisenkonstruktion wirkungsvoll schtzt. Dieser sogenannte kathodische Korrosionsschutz verhindert eine Unterrostung des Anstrichs. WS
