WWII U.S. M-1 Helmet Liner Headband by American Stay Co.Description This original WWII U. S. M 1 helmet liner headband was produced by American Stay Co. The buckle is blackened brass, while the third pattern spring clips are green painted steel a combination introduced on November 5, 1943, and utilized until the end of the war. This would be an ideal headband for a helmet liner with either green painted steel or blackened brass A washers. Provenance Private Collection, New Castle, Pennsylvania Condition
